Fleet

At MotorGlide, we operate a well-equipped fleet, with two basic training aircraft for student pilots and a more advanced motorglider suitable for more experienced pilots. We also have a Robin DR400 for SEP and SSEA conversions.

SF25c – G-KIAU (‘Wilhelm’)
Cruise speed: 75-80kts. We acquired Wilhelm from a gliding club in Dortmund, Germany and flew the aircraft home in April 2014. Wilhelm is our primary trainer; the SF-25 is perfect for all levels of ability. Equipment on board:

SF25c – G-KIAB (‘Wilhelmina’)
Cruise speed: 75-80kts. We bought Wilhelmina from a gliding club near Frankfurt in Germany and flew her home in October 2016. Wilhelmina is our second primary trainer and she is also available for solo hire. Equipment on board:

H36 Dimona – G-WENN (‘Gwenn’)
Cruise speed: 90kts. The Dimona joined the MotorGlide fleet in April 2015, when we flew her back from a gliding club in Linz, Austria. The Dimona is an advanced training aircraft and is perfect for glider pilots seeking the winter wave.Equipment on board:

  Robin DR400 – G-CEKE
Cruise speed: 110kts. The Robin is used for conversions to SEP or SSEA, towing gliders and self-hire. With its four-blade propeller and 180 horsepower, the DR400 is comfortable and has great climb performance. Equipment on board:

  • VOR and DME

Ikarus C42 – G-KTOW
Cruise speed: 86-92kts. The Ikarus C42 Bravo is an innovative, modern two-seater microlight available to MotorGlide and BGA members for aerotows, microlight conversion training, revalidation and self-hire. Equipment on board:

  • 100 hp Rotax 912 ULS with cowl flap
  • Aerotow hook and mirror
  • Radio, mode S transponder, Power Flarm with Wifi out
  • Twin Kanardia EMSIS displays
  • Panel and RAM mounts for moving map tablet
  PA-28 – G-BNRG
Cruise speed: 108kts. The PA28 is used for converting to SEP or SSEA, and is based at RAF Brize Norton with our examiner Matt Lane. The PA28 can be flown from Brize or Long Marston. Equipment on board:

  • Artificial Horizon
  • Transponder
  • IFR equipped, including ILS and DME
  • Standard six pack
